Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce
As copywriter of Chamber’s 2011 Relocation Guide, Bastian authored the 10 major features in the 102-page piece. The supporting charts, photos and other editorial elements were provided by the Chamber’s talented team of creative and research professionals (most notably, Becky Bridges).
The Chamber’s official 2011 Relocation Guide, the flagship publication for the organization, was published in April 2011. This sought-after publication will be distributed to 10,000 relocating families and businesses. The new guide, published by CommunityLink, is the only relocation guide endorsed by The Chamber; it highlights member companies and is a valuable resource to new and existing businesses and families of the Alamo City. National Lawyers Association
Bastian helped national pro-life, pro-Constitution bar association re-energize itself by producing new professional-grade quarterly newsletter (beginning Jan. 2010), new logo and new Twitter account, and assisting with relaunch of website using CMS platform (joomla) allowing client to easily update content on the fly. Also helping with as-needed national PR efforts. Results of first one-year marketing efforts: Over 200 new lawyers joined NLA, and excellent retention rate for existing membership.
Public Service Electric & Gas
Within three short weeks, BPR wrote a 13,000-word PSE&G brochure about the merits for U.S. and foreign businesses to relocate to New Jersey. Piece won major promotional writing award. BPR wrote an updated version the next year.Both projects involved two days of on-site research in Newark to secure quotes, find new story angles and obtain vital background information. PSE&G is New Jersey’s largest utility.
Tandy Corporation
BPR wrote an image-positioning brochure for Tandy Corporation’s new Video Concepts retail chain within a tight 36-hour deadline. Client said the piece helped Video Concepts win vital leases from major mall developers, and greatly contributed to the brand’s national “rollout” success.

City of Las Vegas
BPR wrote a 4,000-word brochure for the City of Las Vegas’ Economic Development Department to persuade new businesses to relocate to the region. It was the first major four-color piece created by the department for this purpose; and has generated dozens of strong leads since the City began distributing it. Project demanded two days of intensive on-site interviews in Vegas gather new information and collect research data. Brochure won prestigious IABC Silver Quill mega-region award….BPR wrote two more brochures for the City of Las Vegas.
Wright State University’s School of Medicine
BPR worked with 10 physicians to write the the first recruitment brochure for this prestigious medical school located in Dayton, Ohio. Client said piece was directly responsible for major boost in student enrollment.
Mercy Regional Health System
Before the nationally famous writer Heidi Murkoff (co-author, What to Expect When You’re Expecting) presented her pregnancy seminar in Greater Cincinnati, BPR wrote this promotional brochure for the sponsoring hospital care system to distribute in the community. Seminar was deemed a success and was well attended, the client reported.
Swope Parkway Health Center
Bastian wrote a Medicare benefits brochure for the patients of this Kansas City, Missouri, hospital serving many of the region’s low-income citizens. Piece was part of a communications program which included a periodic newsletter and simplified, easy-to-read annual report.
AMPIP
AMPIP is the acronym used by Mexico’s premiere industrial park association. BPR created a 1,300-word AMPIP brochure (plus two updated versions). Its audience: U.S. firms considering a move to Mexico to take advantage of NAFTA’s trade and tax benefits.
Design Forum
Design Forum is an architectural, graphic design and interior design firm with a national client base headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. BPR wrote client profiles about the store concepts created for well-known firms including GM’s Pontiac division store, Hit or Miss clothing store, Tandy Corp.’s VideoConcepts and Wagons-lits Travel.

Bastian produces a variety of marketing & PR materials for this national marriage ministry based in San Antonio, TX. Pictured is an ad created for the 2011 Official Catholic Directory, Archdiocese of San Antonio, TX.
InGenesis
Bastian wrote the site map and copy for the website of InGenesis Medical Staffing. This work won a prestigious IABC/San Antonio Bronze Quill award for communications excellence. (Webhead of San Antonio did the “technical-creative” side of the project.) Note: Firm’s current website is not the same website which won the award nor is it reflective of Bastian’s work.
