PROJECTS
& PORTFOLIO: Media
Relations: the art of intriguing reporters
Seasoned business
journalist Lisa Bastian CBC understands what "news" reporters
and editors want. What "slant" they need. And how to "read" an editorial
calendar to pitch a story the right way -- at the right time.
|
That's why
organizations that represent many different industries have retained
Bastian Public Relations to write about and publicize destinations,
products, services, people and events with "no fluff" PR
materials that get results.
Besides news
organizations, often companies want to identify and reach many other
kinds of audiences or "publics" with specific public relations
efforts. These audiences may be the company's employees, customers,
investors, analysts, trade associations, retailers, suppliers, communities,
business partners, local business organizations, etc.
|
|
Bastian Public Relations
can develop unique, strategic PR plans which will help a company
effectively communicate a message to any number of "publics."

Each year Life

pregnancy, and gives them info about abortion alternatives via billboards
and in-theater movie ads. A BPR press release and follow-up calls
garnered Life Media national exposure: an interview during a nationally
broadcast "Focus on the Family" radio show, a write-up in a national,
pro-life education newsletter (published by Life
Issues Institute), and a bit of Internet publicity. Life Media received
about a dozen phone calls from other pro-life groups around the country
seeking information on how to start their own Life Media-type programs.
Bastian co-founded Kansas City's first on-going, pro-life billboard
ministry. This evolved into the not-for-profit Life Media, an organization
educating the public on pro-life and pro-family issues. For more
