Since 1981 Lisa Bastian CBC has written well-researched, full-length articles (many cover stories) primarily for national business publications covering an extremely wide range of subjects. Her numerous features (average length: 1,500 to 2,500 words) have appeared in respected magazines representing these diverse industries: meetings & conventions, business travel, economic development, hotel & motel management and business fashion.

The Meeting Manager

The Meeting Manager is the monthly journal of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the educational and lobbying "voice" of meeting planners worldwide. Bastian won four business writing awards for this publication and is the author of over 40 MPI features, many of which were coveted cover stories. Economic Development Magazine

Bastian serves as a Field Editor and Writer for a respected national economic development magazine. It provides site-selection guidance for CEOs and business owners of mostly manufacturing companies operating in the U.S. Bastian has written over 40 articles for this monthly publication, as well as a dozen ED marketing brochures for cities, states, ED organizations and foreign governments. 1996--.

Bastian also provides ED marketing materials for clients of ECOTRAX (www.ecotrax.com), an affordable content provider of up-to-date ED news serving local and state economic development Web sites nationwide. .

Ingram's is Kansas City's award-winning, monthly business magazine. Bastian debuted the publication's "Beer & Wine" column profiling local people working in the alcoholic beverage industry. She also was chosen to write its prestigious 1994 "Corporate Report 100" (profiles of 100 highest income-producing firms) and the "Corporate CEO 100" (profiles of 100 top CEOs in Kansas City).

American Jails

American Jails is the national, monthly journal of the American Jail Association. BPR wrote a 2,300-word article about the unique substance-abuse treatment program a community hospital in Hamilton OH, offered inmates. Helped build credibility for the program's marketing efforts inside and outside of the state.

Women's Wear Daily

Women's Wear Daily is a famous "business fashion" daily newspaper published in New York City. BPR was retained by the paper to attend the annual meeting of Cincinnati-based Mercantile Stores, then write an article (and file it just a few hours later) about the company's new "ActiveZone" sportswear division. March 1998.

St. Anthony Messenger

St. Anthony Messenger CoverAlthough definitely not a business publication, Bastian wants to recognize this national, continually award-winning Catholic family magazine (circulation: 480,000) for giving her invaluable writing, editing and organizational management skills.
