Awards / Industry Recognition

Awards are more than boosts for the ego. They're also good indicators of the type of quality work an agency produces. Through Principal Lisa Bastian CBC B astian Public Relations has won numerous prestigious writing awards for both feature articles and marketing brochures.

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)... honored BPR with a Silver Quill Award of Excellence writing award (1999). Bastian's marketing brochure entry won first-place in a three-state district competition comparing the best work of business writers from Greater Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Michiana.

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)... honored Bastian PR with four Bronze Quill writing awards (two "Award of Excellence" and one "Award of Merit") for work entered in city-wide communication competitions held in Dallas and Cincinnati.

The Northeast Economic Developers Association (NEDA)... presented BPR with a Best in Class award in its literature and sales promotion competition ( 1997). The agency's work competed against dozens of the finest marketing materials produced by economic development professionals located in 11 East Coast states. The award-winning entry, "Tradelink New Jersey," is a 38-page, special-section magazine supplement produced for Public Service Electric & Gas, one of the 10 largest combined electric-and-gas companies in the United States. Designed to persuade high-tech and manufacturing firms to set up operations in New Jersey, PSE&G confirms the brochure did its job quite well.

Cincinnati Editors Association... The renowned Cincinnati Editors Association, one of America's largest citywide organizations just for editors, recognized Bastian PR's work in annual publication contests via four First Place awards and two Second Place writing awards. Most of the winning entries were magazine features.

Certified Business Communicator... Lisa Bastian earned the Certified Business Communicator (CBC) professional designation from the International Business / Professional Advertising Association (BPAA). This means she possesses essential knowledge and experience about how public relations, marketing, advertising and printing work together as business communication tools.
