Project: Marketing brochures promoting Canada as ideal place for HQ and maor office relocations
Canada offers a wealth of opportunities and a world of innovation for companies considering a relocation or headquarters move within its borders. At the time of these projects, it was identified as the best country in the G-20 to do business, according to both Forbes and Bloomberg, and led all G-7 countries in economic growth from 2003 to 2012. This nation’s main sectors then ranged from Aerospace, Automotive, Chemicals and Plastics and Digital Media, to Financial Services, Machinery and Equipment, and Software Wireless Communications.
Bastian was hired as a the headline writer for two major LOCATION CANADA brochures; each one touted the economic development assets of Canada for foreign nations, particularly U.S. firms. The publications were written for the federal government of Canada, the client of a U.S. national economic development magazine. Bastian completed this work by interviewing dozens of government officials and economic development consultants for the most up-to-date information.
Thousands of copies of these brochures were mailed to inquiring companies as well as handed out to prospects at global trade shows by Canadian government representatives, and also used as inserts in national magazines.
Relatedly, over the years Bastian also wrote a half dozen feature stories about Canada’s business environment and industries.
Interviewing, research, writing.
