The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) is an industry trade group with thousands of members, including hotel brands, owners, management companies, real estate Investment trusts, independent hotels, bed and breakfasts, state hotel associations, and industry partners and suppliers. It was founded in 1953, and is now headquartered in Washington, D.C. AHLA's former name was the American Hotel & Motel Association (AHMA).
Lodging is the official publication of AHLA, providing readers with hotel and lodging news, hotel business tips, hospitality industry coverage, and hotel trends.
Bastian wrote a half dozen full-length articles, over 2,000 words in length each, for Lodging when AHLA was known as AHMA. Topics were diverse, and always included interviews with industry leaders.
Research, interviewing, writing.
